Day 4 - variable winds

A foggy start for central and some southwestern areas, clearing to leave a dry day for many with some sunshine. Light intermittent rain in southeastern England will clear during the afternoon. Blustery rain moves into the far west later.

Tonight

Intermittent light rain spreading across the UK, becoming occasionally heavy in Scotland. Heavy showers for western coasts and Northern Ireland. Strong southerly winds for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Tuesday

Unsettled, with rain at times in the southeast of the UK. Brighter conditions with scattered showers further north and west. Remaining windy with a risk of gales near northwestern coasts.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday

Rain clearing southeastwards on Wednesday with further showers for parts for England and Wales. Mostly dry on Thursday before rain approaches from the west on Friday. Fresh to strong winds.
